Hospitality following Sunday Mass provides an appreciated and valuable opportunity for those attending to meet with friends and welcome newcomers over a leisurely cup of coffee or juice. Parishioners gather in the Memorial Center on most Sundays after the 8:00am Mass and on the first Sunday of the month after the 9:30am, 11:30am and 5:00pm Masses. Help is always needed to set-up and clean-up or to bring doughnuts, baked goods (bought or homemade) or fruit to share. Our hosts are volunteers from the Mass they attend, so introduce yourself and help where you can. It will be most appreciated.

As in the contemplative tradition, we pray in silence, going beyond word, thoughts and images. We open ourselves to and focus on God's presence within, where contact with Christ can occur once the mind has been stilled. Audio and vidio aides enhance our understanding of this prayer style. Many are changed by continuing practice; some become more forgiving, others less fearful. No previous experience in this form of prayer needed for you to attend.

Sacristans coordinate the preparation for Mass. They prepare the church and the altar with everything needed for the celebration. They make certain that the scheduled Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Lector are present and find substitutes for those who are not there. They coordinate the ushers/greeters, find people to bring the gifts before the offertory, and make sure all goes smoothly during Mass. After Mass they put everything back in place in the sacristy as appropriate and lock up as necessary. This important ministry is open to parishioners and training is available.

To help our shut-ins stay spiritually connected with the parish, volunteers make regular visits to the sick and handicapped in their homes, care facilities or retirement communities with celebration of prayer and the distribution of the Eucharist. Call to receive the Eucharist at home or in the hospital, to request prayers through our Book of the Sick or Prayers of the Faithful, to request a visit for yourself or another parishioner, for assistance in coping with illness or disability or with the needs of the dying, or to volunteer as a visitor. New volunteers are welcome.
