Message from Fr. BongMsgr. Andy Coffey’s death. With faith-filled sadness, I would like to let our beloved community – the community whom Msgr. Coffey loves – that he died at 9:00 on Thursday, August 12, 2010. We will have the Vigil Service with rosary and evening prayer on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. here at St. James. The funeral service will be held at the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (1017 11th St., Sacramento) on Friday at 11:30 a.m.
On Thursday evening, I would like to encourage you to bring a dish that you enjoyed with Msgr. Coffey, or any dish you would like to bring. The potluck will be held as we share stories right after the vigil.
In behalf of the community, I would like to thank the so many volunteers who assisted Msgr. Coffey during his time of illness. They have been tireless. He was also extremely grateful not only for the physical care but the many cards and prayer intentions that you have sent.
