Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Please join in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament held Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the St. James chapel.  If you wish, you may write your prayers down on the sign-in sheet located on the pedestal in the back so that others can pray for your intentions as well.

Join Our St. James Centering Prayer Group

Parent Co-op for Child Care

At the 9:30 Mass the Parent Co-op offers a welcoming faith-filled adult supervised environment for our parish's youngest members.  Sign up begins for children ages one year to two years eleven months by December 2nd.  Parent volunteers take turns offering a safe, faith-filled environment for our parish's youngest members beginning October 2nd.  To register or for more information, please call MariAnne Edwards in the Faith Formation office at 756-3636, Ext 208, 209 or 210.

A new study - Acts of the Apostles - 9:45-11:45 am  The excitement of Pentecost enlivened the early believers in their struggles to establish communities of faith- struggles surprisingly like those today. Whether you are well versed in the bible or just beginning your journey of study and prayer, this dynamite group of women, led by Gloria Bonekat, will provide a vibrant , intellectual and prayerful group to continue your growth. Altar Care Ministry Needs Your Help

We are looking for the men and ladies of the parish to assist in 'light housekeeping for the Lord.'  Can you spare an hour a week once a month or every two months?  We clean, arrange flowers, check pews, update missalettes and etc.  We will provide complete training and shifts are arranged for a Friday or Saturday.  Your time would make such a contribution.  Please call Ann Rost at 758-3194 or the Pastoral Office at 756-3636 to volunteer.  Thank you so much and God Bless You.

Mens Bible Study

Great way to begin 2012!

Men of the parish meet on Friday mornings from 7:00-8:30 am in the St. Francis Room of the Memorial Center to study scripture together. New members are always welcome. This is a wonderful time to join as a new study, Good News in New Places, begins on January 6th. The study explores the challenges faced by the early church in bringing the Gospel to the Gentiles from a Jewish culture. Good News in New Places studies the earliest stage of the journey of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Call Tom Kesinger at 758-6566 for more information.

A Call To Contemplative Prayer

Learn how to deepen your connection with God through Centering Prayer.  Centering Prayer is not meant to replace other kinds of prayer but rather it adds depth of meaning to all prayer.

The Centering Prayer Group meets on Tuesdays from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the St. Ignatius Room.  The Group is led by Linda O'Hara.  No registration is required.

Womens Retreat March 2-4

A Womens Retreat is being held at Christ the King Passionist Retreat Center, 6520 Van Maren Lane Citrus Heights, CA 95621 (916)725-4720,  March 2-4, 2012.  The retreat will feature inspiring preached conferences, Eurcharist on Saturday and Sunday, Sacrament of Reconciliation, opportunity to meet with retreat staff and ample personal time for prayer, reading and rest.
